ROVERS

Rover Scouting is the final age section Scouting has to offer to its youth members. The Rover Scout age is 18 - 26 years, and its here the “real good stuff” happens. Experiment with exciting and challenging adventures with your friends while also pursuing your personal goals with the help of an advisor, ensuring that you are better prepared for life.

Membership

Each Rover Scout needs to complete their membership requirements in-order to start their Programme.

Service Training Star

The Service Training Star is awarded to a Rover Scout by the Association on the recommendation of the Rover Adviser after the Rover Scout completes the following Task.

Server a Scout Group for six months at least as an Assistant Scout Leader, to the satisfaction of the Association and the Group Scout Leader.

Instructor's Badge

The Instructor's Badge is awarded to a Rover Scout by the Association on the recommendation of the Rover Adviser after the Rover Scout completes the following Task.

~ Hold the Service Training Star

~ Work as an Instructor to a Cub Pack or Scout Troop

~ Have the knowledge and ability to instruct a Cub Scout in completing the Bronze and Silver Arrow and any 2 Proficiency Badges

~ Have the knowledge and ability to instruct a Scout in completing the Advance Scout Standard and any 4 Proficiency Badges

The badge will have to be surrendered within four months of ceasing to be an instructor.

The Project Badge

The Project Badge is awarded to a Rover Scout by the Association on the recommendation of the Rover Adviser after the Rover Scout completes the following Task.

~ Register a project chosen by the Rover's at the Association

~ At least 6 months should be spent on the project

Ramblers Badge

The Ramblers Badge is awarded to a Rover Scout by the Association on the recommendation of the Rover Adviser after the Rover Scout completes the following Task.

~ Be competent to instruct and examine a scout in 2 of the following badges: Camp Warden, Forester, Advance Pioneer, Naturalist, and Interpreter.

~ Completing a journey of consecutive 4 days and 3 nights or 2 journeys each extending over 48 Hours with 2 nights out excluding travel time. The journey should be undertaken with a team of not more than 7 Rover Scouts.

~ The journey must be approved by the Rover Adviser and the Association.

Scout Craft Star

The Scout Craft Star is awarded to a Rover Scout by the Association on the recommendation of the Rover Adviser after the Rover Scout completes the following Task.

~ Serve a Scout Group for at least 6 months and hold a warrant as a Cub or Scout Leader.

OR

~ Camp at least 10 separate occasions, aggregating not less than 10 night on 3 different Camp Sites

~ Be competent to instruct and examine a Scout in any 2 of the following Badges: Advance Swimmer, Advance Pioneer, Camp Cook, and Quartermaster

Baden Powell Award

The Baden Powell Award is awarded to a Rover Scout by the Association on the recommendation of the Rover Adviser after the Rover Scout completes the following.

~ Complete Ramblers Badge, The Project Badge, Service Training Star, and the Scout Craft Star.
