In the Official Meeting with the Maldivian Contingent attending the 25th World Scout Jamboree, Chief Scout His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, delivered a powerful message to the young Scouts and Guides. During the meeting held at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE). President emphasized the importance of fulfilling religious obligations, upholding national dignity, and maintaining high moral standards.
President Solih highlighted that these core values play a significant role in shaping the character of young individuals and are essential for building a solid and prosperous nation. He urged the Scouts and Guides to embrace our national customs and abide by regulations while participating in the jamboree, ensuring they represent the Maldives in a positive light.
Addressing the participants, the President expressed his confidence in their ability to take advantage of the numerous opportunities presented during the jamboree, encouraging them to engage in new activities and further their personal development.
During the meeting, President Solih also commended the exceptional talent of Maldivian Scouts on the global stage, citing the participation of a Maldivian Scout, Scout Leader Ali Shafa’ath Manik, in the planning team for the event as evidence of their capabilities. He extended his congratulations to Scout Leader Manik for his role in the planning team.
In a symbolic gesture, Chief Scout presented the Maldivian flag to the Head of Contingent, signifying unity and pride for the nation as the contingent embarks on this international scouting event.
The 25th World Scout Jamboree, hosted in SaeManGeum, Republic of Korea, from August 1 to 12, 2023, will witness the active participation of 425 Scouts and Guides from the Maldives. The President’s inspirational words are sure to resonate with the young scouts and guides as they showcase their abilities and talents on the global stage.
